This is the last of the videos we shot in Rome and feels like a perfect opportunity to speak a bit more about the wonderful women I met there. I know I’ve touched on this a bit before, but I was really struck by the generosity and kindness of the women in food that I met while I was there.
To rewind to November of 2024, I went for dinner at Polentina in Bow with two of my housemates. We had a very delicious dinner made up of regional Italian and Austrian dishes that I rarely see on other London menus. While we ate, Virginia got chatting to Sebastiano, the sommelier, who happened to be Italian. Turns out, he was from Rome and we got to talking about the city, I mentioned I was planning to visit in February and asked if he knew anyone I could connect with in the food scene there.
