I’m always fascinated when I hear about other people living or existing communally. As soon as I came across Whitney Leigh Morris on Instagram I was engrossed in her tiny French farmhouse that she shares with friends. I love the idea of having a co-stewardship with my friends when we’re all a little further along, maybe some of us with children, coming together when we can and existing alongside each other. It was a real joy when Whitney agreed to be interviewed for this newsletter and I got to ask her all my burning questions, many of which I often get asked myself. To be on the other side of the conversation for once was a thrill.
Whitney’s approach to communality is very similar to that of our warehouse, the principles of sharing, open communication and all chipping in for the greater good loom large. In the cost of living crisis that we’re all living through and with the route to buying property becoming increasingly more difficult and inaccessible, I wonder if the act of buying with friends, rather than romantic partners, will become more prevalent.
I hope you’re all having a good start to September and that you enjoy this interview and the fritters as much as I did.
Sending love, Rosie x
