a recipe from the man himself, THC, aka my boyfriend Jack
As you know, I’ve have commissioned some of my favourite food writers and chefs to make sure your plates are full while I am away on maternity leave, and I am thrilled to introduce the third guest writer to you this week, the one and only, THC - aka, my boyfriend and baby daddy Jack Stevens-Smith.
You’ve heard a lot from me about Jack (THC) over the last year, I have shared many an anecdote from our love story and many a delicious bite that has either been heavily influenced, or come directly, from him. Jack has inspired me hugely, in my cooking, my palate and my interests in food, since I met him. He has opened my eyes to new ingredients, ways of cooking and approaches to writing recipes, that have improved my work no end. It gives me so much joy to introduce you all to him properly here, and for you to get a little window into how his cooking brain works. The man is an artist and he deserves a cookbook deal stat. That’s all I have to say really.
Oh - and ! On top of recently becoming a dad, he has also just opened a brilliant and delicious new spot which you should all visit if you are in the Hoxton area, it’s called Cremer, it’s joined to the Museum of the Home on Kingsland Road and the food is phenomenal. It is henceforth my favourite place to go for breakfast and lunch in the East London area, and while I am deeply biased, I would bet a lot of money that you will love it too. Ok, now that really is all I have to say.

My edition of The Late Plate could too easily become a public love letter to Rosie. At this point you pretty much know it all. You’ve been peppered with snippets of our story over the last 14 months. It does still feel like a miracle we met, and in a kind of divine way, it feels like we met at the perfect time. Had it been any earlier I’m not sure I’d have had the maturity.
