I went back and forth about publishing this post for a long time. Had enough time passed to speak objectively about my experience? Would anyone care? Would it help or hinder? Would I offend people? Would it seem self-indulgent? I’m still not sure of the answers to most of those questions. But after a week away on my own and enough time to really mull it all over, I feel there is something useful worth sharing, that may help someone else going through something similar. And so, for that reason, in addition to messages from kind people on the internet encouraging me to share my experience, I have decided to deep dive into the current state of my love life, recent developments and the resulting solo holiday I took – with some key tips and take aways. I went to a very sweet little fishing village in Sicily and have included details about where I stayed, recommendations for if you find yourself in the same part of the world and some things I wish I had known before going on a solo holiday. For many reasons, I have paywalled the following content, to protect the innocent and because being this vulnerable on the internet frightens me, so I would like to keep it in a corner reserved for people who really want to be there.

If you’re going through a breakup, freshly back to dating in your 30s or considering a solo holiday – I hope some of the following is useful to you!

As ever, sending love, Rosie x
