a sunnier day & the worry stone my boyfriend recently gave me

I don’t know about you, but I have found the transition into November a challenging one. I’ve been struggling with high anxiety and feelings of overwhelm, due to a variety of reasons, but the one thing that remains a constant, soothing presence for me, is cooking. As soon as I start cooking, whether it’s a little snack for me or a meal for ten, I start to feel calmer and like I am coming back to myself. When I first cooked this week’s recipe, I found myself trying to do too many things at once and it had gotten to 3pm before I had eaten lunch. I downed tools, cooked this soup and before long I was tucking into a bowl of warming, brothy deliciousness, all the calmer for having cooked and fed myself. I encourage you to do the thing I often fail to do; slow down, nourish yourself with good food, allow things to happen at the pace they are meant to and hold on to those worry stones (and lovely boyfriends) just a little tighter.

This week we also have the first, in what will become, a series of interviews with interesting and talented women, in the food industry and beyond. I was so thrilled to get to speak to Amelia, who, in my opinion, has revolutionised the food scene with her delicious beans.

Stay warm, stay cosy, as ever, let me know what you think in the comments x
